Ways to improve

<p>I'm a high school Junior looking to apply to U of M next year. I'm looking for ways to improve my chance and was wondering if anybody could give me tips on things to do! Below is my "resume". Please feel free to critique it! Thanks in advance :)</p>

<p>-Cumulative GPA: 3.93
-World History AP score (only AP offered so far): 3
-ACT: took my freshman year without any preparation and got a 24 (DEFINATELY will improve)
-Took honors math and english freshman, sophomore and junior year (only honors classes offered)
-AP world history and AP Government (only AP classes offered)
-Currently in German IV (8th-11th grade, planning on continuing thru senior year)
-Played Freshman and JV volleyball (quit after sophomore year)
-Played JVB and JVA softball (still playing)
-Key club (sophomore and junior year)
-NHS (inducted at the end of sophomore year)
-Model UN (sophomore and junior year)
-German Club (junior year)
-Volunteered in my former teacher's classroom 7th-9th grade, 2 hours a week during the school year
-Summer volunteer program at local hospital (36 hours)
-I have worked at a grocery store for about a year
-I volunteer at a local hospital and have for a year. I have put in about 80 hours so far
-Perfect attendance award freshman and sophomore year (don't think it matters, but...)
-volunteer at local animal shelter a few times a month
-I have a strong interest in business and politics. I am not sure specifically what I want to major in, but am interested in one of those two fields
-I truly love to volunteer during my free time</p>

<p>It doesn’t say whether you are in-state or OOS or whether the GPA is weighted or unweighted. Most important thing is to the keep the GPA up and to take classes that are the most rigorous classes you will do well in. After that, the ACT score needs to come up. If you are admitted with a 24 it will be in spite of the score rather than because of it.</p>
