The unlimited plan was great for freshman year, however swipes started to taper off as S began eating some of his meal out with friends. He joined one of the newer fraternities and they usually dine out together at least once or twice a week, since the fraternity does not have a house yet. He also gets invited to dine at one of the sorority houses on a weekly basis. And let’s not forget tailgating.
We are going with the 90 meal plan, which he feels is sufficient. He will be expected to have breakfast at his apartment and he is brushing up on his basic cooking skills, since he claims he will occasionally cook. (wish I could see that)
We can always upgrade if the 90 plan is not enough, or if his grocery/food budget is getting out of hand.

What is the regular cost of lunch and dinner (barring any specials)?

As far as we can tell, the meal plan doesn’t appear on DS account. How can we be sure, or how can we order?

You need to elect a meal plan after your student’s freshman year, or you won’t have a charge on your bill.

Students must order meal plans through MyBama. (Not Freshman)
Log in to your account
Go to the Student Tab
Scroll down to the Bama Dining channel
Select “Apply for a Meal Plan”
You will then select the semester and meal plan you wish to order
All first-year students will be automatically billed for the All Access Meal Plan
