We are the #1 seed in two NCAA championships

Go Cats!!!

And let's not forget softball which is hosting the B10 tourney as the no.1 seed.

Here's a link to a very good article about the lax team in Sports Illustrated.

L. Jon Wertheim: Go West, Young Lady - More Sports - SI.com

It's funny how the lax world is referring to the laxcats as "the Evil Empire".

And some more "big" news from the weekend - Carmody signed 7'0" 280 lbs center Kyle Rowley to complete the 2008 recruiting class (probably the best ever for the 'Cats and somewhere 4th or 5th best in the B10).

So the 'Cats go from ONE player 6'8" or taller to five players 6'8" or taller.

Other than lax, NU has no NCAA championship in other sports, right? So that's why I am kinda excited about the w tennis now. I think they should have no problem going to semi-final for which, I expect them to meet the #4 seed Stanford (underseeded because it's ranked #2 now). Stanford has been the queen in w. tennis but this year, I'd give the edge to NU. If the Cats win that one, they should be able to take home the title as I don't think there's any other team in the another bracket better than Stanford.
