We didn't realize!

Hello! While TwinS2 has applied to both USAFA and USNA, TwinS1 was in the lurking stage. Yesterday, he filled out his app to USCGA - then let us know. I just looked over the website - very impressive. I can't believe I missed it all these years.

Anyway, he loves that Op Research major, and the Govt major, and the management major and the Naval Architecture major. He loves engineering too. Guess he'll fit right in.

The only thing he doesn't like is that among the lifetime sports, THERE'S NO FENCING! He's thinking that he will introduce these folks to the fine art of sword dueling! (We'll see)

Anyway, this fencersmother is pleased with his choice (though his #1 is still Notre Dame).

this is an awesome place, and to make it even better, there actually is a fencing club here. your son would fit right in

Wow! A fencing club! They should put that on their website - we can't be the only ones who didn't see it. S was convinced he was going to have to use his liberty to find a club in the area. Is there a link to their club's website?

i couldnt find a website, but i know the club is active

I will also concur that the government major is awesome...my son is taking that and he has had great professors. One of the department's "stars" is Glenn Sulmasy who is frequently quoted in the media and is currently a fellow at the Carr Center at the Kennedy School of Government(Harvard). Good luck to him and your other son.

S was watching a coast guard boat go through the locks on the Ohio Rvr near us this week. Too much noise or S said he would have yelled over to them "HEY! ARE YOU USCGA?"

We talked again about his application there, especially in light of his twin getting the LOA today from AFA. He's in the "not talking about it" stage and I know better than to push right now.
