We find out in less than a week, but...

I'd still like to see what you all think about the probability of my acceptance. Since I'm just looking for my chances at Vandy, I figured I'd post here rather than in the general Chances forum. I'm applying to the CAS.

White Male, Upper Middle Class
2nd in class out of 540 (I think)
Public School
GPA: 3.89 Unweighted, 6.17 Weighted.
SAT: 1510/1600 (CR 770-MATH 740)
ACT: 34 (Only took it once! Messed up bad)
SATIIs: Lit 780, Math Level 2 670, US History 680 (Again, didn't even think about these 'till the day of and messed up REAL bad on two of them)

I've taken a few dual-enrollment courses, and otherwise have more APs than almost anyone at my school.
AP Macroeconomics: 4
AP Calc BC: 3 sub 4
AP US History: 5
AP Human Geography: 5
AP English Language: 4
AP Microeconomics, Lit, Stat, Physics B, and Psych in progress. Expectations of 5s, no problem.

I work 24 hours a week, and am involved in many extracurriculars:
Founded the Ultimate Frisbee club at my school.
Varsity Swimming, 7 yrs, Captain for one (+ Misc. awards), State finalist for a couple years.
VP of a Venture Crew (Boys Scouts-related org.)
Treasurer for Exchange Service Club
Outstanding Attorney award at a recent Mock Trial competition.
I'll stop there 'cause those are the ones I consider most important and interesting. Total of 300-400 service hours, but only 150 recorded.

Great Rec from guidance counselor, good rec from two teachers.

I'm also a National Merit Finalist, a CompTIA A+ Hardware and Software Certified Computer Tech, and a certified lifeguard.

Those are the important stats, I think. If you'd like to know anything else I'll gladly share. so what's your opinion?

if you dont get in, something is wrong. are you being sarcastic? 34 on an ACT is a mess up? geez, did you apply to any Ivy's?

They probably should deny you because you aren't even smart enough to know you'll get in.

...They didn't give you any scholarships?

Haha, thanks, I guess I was just a tad concerned after I was flat-out rejected from Stanford, where I really wanted to go. Also, I didn't do an interview, which most of my friends applying to Vanderbilt did.

I did also apply to Yale, Reed, and Duke. I don't know if I got any scholarships yet, Heather. I think they send scholarship info with the acceptance, don't they? Or am I mistaken? Perhaps you received scholarship info?

Oh, and ahduke, I think I would have received a 35 if it weren't for the Science section of the ACT. I know, I know, the Science section is the easy one - you just interpret the graphs. But seeing as how I had spare time in every other section, I figured I'd have a lot of time during the Science section, and ended up not finishing. I think I got a 31 on the Science. If I had taken the ACT more than once I may have done even better. Dunno!
