"We have received your application and are processing your file..." is so unholy.

It's been over a month, and I see the same instructions every single day. Is there any message in between this and an acceptance/rejection?

Not that I know if. One day, the text at the top of the Welcome page merely changed to,
“Congratulations! You have been admitted to the Coll Engr & Applied Sci UGRD as a/n Computer Science major. Ready to accept? You can confirm your intent to enroll online.”

Last year, I had that message for well over a month. Then, one day, it just switched. Just like fritzy’s.

Whew. Thanks, guys. :] That makes me feel a lot better about this anxious wait, haha.

My daughter’s had the same status as the OP for several months and today it switched to “Your application is complete. The admissions committee is reviewing your file.”
Anyone know how long it usually is between this intermediary and a decision?

I would love to know as I well. I keep checking myCUboulder account obsessively. Im getting so impatient i want to know ASAP. I need to plan my trip there (i’m from Ohio)!

My daughter’s switched today to admitted. It took about 10 days between “Your application is complete.” to “Congratulations!” We are supposed to go on the tour next Friday, but she asked if we could just go skiing instead, since she’s pretty sure she wants to go to UIUC. We are from Illinois, and the airline tickets are non-refundable …

I sent my application in Jan. 27th and it still says they are processing my file. I am really starting to get anxious because I thought I read the deadline to confirm enrollment was May 1st so we are running out of time. I am sure they will accept me or reject me before then it would just be nice to not have to rush getting up there for a tour and the decision. I did get an email from them the day after I sent my application in saying they didnt have my ssn. and they needed me to print out a paper and mail it to them. I am sure that delayed my application a few days. How much longer should I wait before I call to see what the hold up is? I read they will generally review and accept applications from one major at a time. Anyone with a mechanical engineering major just accepted or rejected recently?

thanks

I sent in my application on February 15th. Last week my status changed to saying my application was complete and being reviewed, and today changed to accepted.

I’m in-state and applied for Arts and Sciences.

Wow that must be nice, Im jealous. I am in state and sent my app. for mechanical engineering in Jan. 27th and still havent heard anything back. I just called them to check in on it and make sure they weren’t waiting on me for something and they said it would be the end of march or the beginning of April before I heard anything. That makes me nervous. That means I will have a month or less to get up up there, take a tour and decide. I really have no idea if I will be accepted or not. I graduated HS in 05 with a 3.1 and did very poor on the act and sat. But I do have 67 college credits with a 3.98 GPA so hopefully they will ignore my poor HS record. Whats everybody think can I get in? Does the fact its taking 2 months for them to look at my application mean anything? Could it mean they are borderline rejecting me if they get a more qualified person last minute, or are they just slow because they are slow?

Thanks to everyone for updates. After reading the post from manarius I told my daughter to check her status, since she fit all the same info: in-state, arts and sciences, status change last week…
And yes, she is accepted!
Good luck to everyone else waiting for news.

I had guaranteed admission, so it was more a question of when I would get in than whether I would.

I suspect that the timeline for making transfer decisions is a little different than for freshman. You also applied to engineering, while I applied to arts and sciences. That could have something to do with it.

Honestly, with 67 credits at 3.98, I would be absolutely shocked if you didn’t get in. As a junior transfer, they hardly even look at your HS transcript and ACT scores/

manarius

Wow thanks for the reply, I am shocked anybody even read my rant there. I would agree with you except for the fact that I know I won’t be a junior, and I am doubtful I would even be sophomore. The reason being is I didnt follow the outlined courses for a degree at my community college. So far I have taken every machine shop class that they offer, half their welding classes, and a handful of engineering classes. So I have not done any english, math, or history since hs. I did test out of all their reading classes, and i think all but one of their math classes. I am hoping that at least a years worth of my classes would transfer. If I am accepted I am hoping that I could do what ever is required for freshman and sophomore core classes my first year and then start at the junior level my second year. But who knows. Anyone else ever been in this situation?

thanks again

manarius

One more thing. If its not obvious I know very little about about colleges and how they work but how do you get guaranteed admission? I havent heard anything yet so does that mean even if I am accepted I may not be accepted for the fall 2011 semester? Or is that all still up in the air? I looked at a few other colleges but CU was the only one that caught my eye and the only one that I applied to. I dont know what I am going to do if I dont get in for fall 2011. I am a very easy going guy but my community college has a way or driving my blood pressure up to stroke levels in about 30 seconds. But I guess if it meant to be it will happen.

Thanks again and sorry for another rant, and Congrats on the acceptance. Are you starting in the fall?

Ah. The welding and machine shop classes won’t transfer (I think), but admissions may still view it favorably. A 3.98 GPA is nothing to sneeze at, no matter the classes being taken.

In-state freshman applicants have guaranteed admission so long as they meet certain academic requirements. Each college (engineering, business, arts and sciences, etc.) have their own standards which can be viewed here: [Guaranteed Admission Criteria for Colorado Freshmen | Admissions | CU-Boulder](http://admissions.colorado.edu/undergraduate/admissions/freshman/guarantee)

I actually had guaranteed admission for all of the colleges.

Guaranteed admission for transfers is a little bit different. Only the college of arts and sciences appears to have it: [Guaranteed Admission Criteria for Colorado Transfer Students | Admissions | CU-Boulder](http://admissions.colorado.edu/undergraduate/admissions/transfer/guarantee)

Thank you for the congratulations. CU is actually my “safety” school, and I have several schools which I would prefer to attend. I’ve yet to hear back from any of them, but decisions should start rolling in during the next week.

I do love Boulder, and I would be perfectly happy at CU, but I’ve lived here my entire life and I kind of want to go do something different.

Update: I’m admitted as of last Saturday. :] Best of luck to anyone who’s still waiting for their admittance! Except I didn’t fill out CU’s scholarship form in time, so I guess it’ll be between the University of Minnesota and UIUC for me, haha.

i still havent heard. do u think there is a reason why?? i’m OOS and applied arts & sciences (sociology). My guidance counselor has called twice in the past 2 months along with sending an additional recommendation letter and i sent a letter of continued interest after i was postponed. im getting freaked (and paranoid) im not going to get in!

Hmm, when did you apply? I’m also from out-of-state and applied to the school of College Arts & Sciences. I’m sure you’ll hear soon! :]

i applied mid december

still nothing…i dont know how much longer i can wait =[[[
