I've heard mixed responses. Some people tell me its constantly raining, its really humid, and there are a lot of thunderstorms. Then I hear that one of the advantages of Duke is its nice, pleasant weather. So how is it really?

well both of those things are true to an extent.

-During the summer there are seemingly thunderstorms every week, but they are very short storms and the majority of the time it is clear so its not like it is always raining. Whoever told you it is "constantly raining" is basically straight up wrong. In the worst part of the summer it is EXTREMELY humid... not something I will try to deny. This is only really bad in july-august and some of the time leading up to/ after that. So, really, being a student in North Carolina helps you avoid some of the hottest weather with summer break. It will be hot as hell and probably like 100% humidity the first week you get here though.

Still: Spring is amazing, Fall is amazing, Winter is short and mild (a snow storm here and there and it drops into the 20s some) and those are the main times you would be here for school.
