well it's that lovely time of year again... november brings slush, december and january bring ice, february brings shattering cold winds, and march sums it all up with some more slush. I love Cornell, and pray to God I get in, but damn the winter they must have in Ithaca makes it (sometimes) seem nice to think about spending four years at, say, U.C. San Diego, or U of Hawaii for that matter.

i spent most of my childhood in texas, a very underrated state weather-wise- it's lovely, yes, the summers get warm, but it's a non-humid, comfortable warm.

however, the last five years i've made my residence in... non other than Buffalo, NY! yes, quite a change from the sunny south to the 'colder/snowier than ithaca' western new york.

i'm not griping or complaining, i just thought all this admissions stress and tension is wayyyy overdone and somewhat lame/useless, no offense to you guys who are excessively worried, i guess it's somewhat normal (cough drinkingmilk cough) so i brought up this thread to talk about something completely random, yet cornell related.

Ah, all stress is ultimately useless and pretty much wasted. As if that has stopped anyone thus far. ;)

I've always been one for cold weather... while I love summer, I would be perfectly happy with sunny 60's or 70's, and snow in the winter is always fun. I currently live in New York out on Long Island, so Cornell isn't a huge change weather-wise... I wouldn't mind it. Especially because I'll most likely be back home for my summers anyway.

The only thing I've heard about is travel problems with the snow, but other than that... maybe I'm just meant to be a penguin. :p

Speaking of weather, Ithaca has had an extremely mild fall. Today, it reached the lower sixties! Granted, it will likely snow by the end of the week, but no complaints by me this semester.

I am a little disappointed as well. Coming into Cornell all I heard about was snow. However, I was looking at the weather report for next week and it seems like almost every day we will have snow showers. Although snow showers on one day might not be significant, snow showers every day could really add up. I'm looking forward to it.

eh, even in syracuse (the snowiest city in the US), snow doesn't really start to accumulate til mid-december. When you get back from winter break, there'll be plenty on the ground.

i like the fact that you can witness 4 seasons. there's something magical going past the same trees and see it transform every season. Anyone ever notice that one tree in the middle of a bunch of trees in front of sibley and white hall in the arts quad that ALWAYS turn bright red in the early fall before all the trees around it even start thinking of losing it's green. That tree always amazes me, and always seems like it was a on fire or something. breathtaking, wish i had a picture, but i'll have that opportunity next year.
