For those of you, especially current students, if any are on this board, how did you adjust to the weather in Chicago if you lived on the West Coast before? I've always lived in California, and my mom grew up visiting Chicago and hates the weather (she says she's never found a season she likes). However, I'm very excited to be admitted, so I'm curious to know if I would survive.

as someone who is lived in chicago for all of his life, the weather really isn't as bad as other people say it is, and really no worse than most other cities above the mason dixon line. the one thing that seems to get everybody here is the fact that our springs absolutely suck. there's a lonnng period of time where the grass is a dirty brown and the thermometer is stuck at 40 degrees. if you can deal with that, though, you'll be ok.

The weather here is actually very nice today, as it has been for the past few days. We got sprinkled earlier, but now the birds are chirping, so things look good.

Don't worry; the weather here is not as bad as it is cracked out to be. At least it is not from a Chicagoan's perspective. :)

I used to live in California until I was about 10, then I moved to Chicago. I dunno, I'm fine with the weather here, though it does get pretty cold. But, all the more excuse for some hot chocolate, heh. Oh, and the weather is very unpredicatable... it might be almost spring one day, and then go back to winter the next.

Whooooooooo! I am a true San Franciscan. I hate anything above 68 and the ideal outside temparature for me is mid-40s. I hate sun. I am relatively inexperienced with blizzards though... that could be tough.
