Web Hosting Ideas

Hey guys, I want to set up web hosting for my website. I currently use Tripod, and I think their deals are rip-off. For example, to upgrade from Free to Plus status, it will cost me $4.95/month with NO domain name. If you want the domain option, it will cost $8.95/month.

On godaddy.com, it will cost roughly $84-87 for web hosting AND a domain name for two years. Is this a good deal?

(.com) = $87, (.info) = $84

I think I heard that GoDaddy wasn't reliable, but still that's a pretty good price. Personally, I've been really happy with dotster. It's like $8.95 a month but is reliable and has lots of features. I think you can host up to 50 domains too.

My site is hosted with Globat, they are amazing and for the packages they offer I think fairly priced. They have a really cool offer going on right now at http://www.globat.com/million/ check it out.

http://www.apblue.com
Because Roommates Suck

I use www.interland.com but it depends on what you want to do with it. Interland is great if your like me running a small e-commerce company.

https://www.bluehost.com/tell_me_more.html

Hey guys, how does that site look? It's $6.95/month. Is that better than Godaddy.com?

Don't go for theose huge corporations that jack up the price. For everybody who asks me (I've hosted sites and bought packages for years), I reccomend Netrillium.net. They are cheap, reliable, and reputable - they have been around for a long time and have a physical address you can write to, which is important.

Netrillium.net

http://www.realwebhost.net/ is a good host

https://www.bluehost.com/tell_me_more.html $6.95/month.

http://www.247-host.com/plans.html ($3.99/month Silver Plan)

http://www.accuburst.com/ ($6.95/month sale)

Hey guys, are these sites better than Godaddy.com?

Your better off with godaddy.com A lot of these smaller companies tend to be unreliable and have little to no tech support.

Thank you so much. I will go with Godaddy.com.

tenisghs, many give you excellent suggestions as to which you should go with or choose. Rather than stick with Godaddy.com, I would rather pay two more dollars per month and get a reliable service. But then again, it's your choice so...

Well ChoCho, I'm currently with Tripod, and I think paying $8.95/month is ridiciulous and is not the best bargain.

http://www.tripod.lycos.com/learnmore/tripodpro.html

I heard wonders about www.bluehost.com

I would definitely stick with bluehost!
My friend also uses it and has never had any problems.

http://hostgator.com/ is BEST
and then GoDaddy is about 10 bucks for a domain name every year

also if you want a lot of space http://www.dreamhost.com/shared/comparison.html

Thank you so much everyone. After having a very hard search, I have finally decided to go with BlueHost.com.

Thanks Moose0884,
I don’t have experience about that site.
For me http://www.9cubehosting.com/ is a good hosting provider. Here i bought Linux based web hosting plan. They provided good technical support.I like their services.

Tripod is horrendous. I use NearlyFreeSpeech for hosting and only use GoDaddy for a domain. I used to host my website from a computer of my own, but I’ve been away from home for a while.
