Web site for Med school feeder schools

Add another 17 top LAC’s.

Now I kind of want to see the undergrads at my school. I’ll count them up after my exam Mon. I think stanford and yale will be at the top of the list

Just another anecdote:

I happened upon the stats for a 30-ish ranked college USNews). Zero undergrads accepted to Harvard Med in the last ten years. Zero. (The report only went back 10 years.) Only one accepted to Yale Med on the chart, and that was ten years ago; none since.

OTOH, a few are accepted to Hopkins every so often (so 30-ish college obviously has some competitive candidates.

Furthermore, there are ~3,000 undergrad colleges in the US and ~130 allopathic med schools. Why would the top med schools accept an unhooked candidate from directional state U? There is no need when the top ranked colleges (Unis and LACs) have thousands of great students from which to choose.

Added up the undergrad schools with more than 1 student in my class. This was fun.
Yale 6
Stanford 5
Michigan 4
Dartmouth 3
Brown 3
UVA 3
UNC 3
Notre Dame 3
Harvard 2
MIT 2
Princeton 2
Columbia 2
Penn 2
UC Berkeley 2
Washu 2
Hopkins 2
UCLA 2
Ohio State 2
Wisconsin 2
UT Dallas 2

One of the school is an outlier haha.

Then there are schools like Cornell, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Emory, Uchicago, Williams and many others with 1 student.

Thanks Bigred!

(ignorepost)

lol done…

I don’t know where to find a list of D’s class UG schools, but out of 87 students, 13 went to the med schools UG and surprisingly 6 from my D’s very small LAC. Now I’m curious to find the complete list.

We are making undergrad decisions this week. Is this the correct spot to ask for opinions on her premed undergrad options?

This forum yes, but not this thread as it’s old and I’m going to close it.

Before you hit the New Thread button to start your own thread, take a look at the Resources sticky thread, there are a couple of excellent threads about how to select an UG college for premed students.
