As a current student when all this first hit, the transition was a bit unnerving at first. The uncertainty, the not knowing. I found myself crying on more than one occasion over it all. Going home to family was the nice part of it. The times when I have cried since coming home have been over other things not related to COVID-19. Transitioning to online classes was a little uncomfortable at first. After about a week though, it wasn’t so bad. Especially since most classes I could access and do anytime. Which meant I didn’t have to be up, dressed, and be somewhere at a certain time. I did may classes barefoot and in my pjs which was nice. There were the occasional live lectures, Zoom study group meetings and such, but still, it was kind of nice to for the most part be able to set my own schedule. What I miss most is the personal, face to face interaction with other students. Zoom meetings and face time just aren’t the same. Overall, it’s mostly been a net positive. I am looking forward to returning to campus in the fall and completing my final year of college.
