<p>For the top schools, the averages are pointless. Anything above a 1400 puts you in the pool. (People with scores lower than 1400 can be in the pool, too, but it's other things that put them there in the first place.) Once you're in the pool, other factors come into play for actual admissions. I've noticed that there seems to be a break point around 1540 but that is far from any guarantee...my D has higher than a 1540 and didn't get into HYS. In fact, that even 1600's get rejected at a rate of 50 percent or more.</p>

the information is far from accurate, and they don't even do math correctly.</p>
<p>i guess collegeboard.com is far more accurate.
princetonreview.com is pretty accurate as well.</p>
