"they are kinda slow with emails..."
so i figured. k well thanks randomgr!

well yeah I asked them something urgent telling them that I apply ed and they replied on the 2nd of nov... ironic no? eventually I sorted out the issue by calling them

I don't think it's necessary to call and see if they got your app yet. (Especially if you just mailed it on Monday). They'll send you a postcard in a week or so. Don't worry!

thanks for trying to comfort me zant, but i think randmomgr is right about this one. If i just sat and waited for the postcard, it'll be Jan 2 before i get mine! Look, i still have not received theapplication form that i requested in July, September, AND October!! My only worry if i call will be that they'll say, wait for the confirmation card - which is ridiculous: i need to know now if they have everything in case i need to send anything that got lost! For some people, especially internationals and such, the snail mail can be a really big problem! Last year, this one guy got a card saying the application wasn't complete and was missing his SAT scores on like, Dec 10 --->which was obviously too late by then!!!!

wait, u guys were letting the appearence of the school's website influence you...I'm sorry, but that sounds kinda dumb.

Well before you visit, it's hard to judge what the school is like, it's hard not to be influenced by the website. But I'm kind of glad it's not super attractive now, gives me a feeling that I've discovered something, not that princeton is a secret to anyone...

Tobsta, you never answered my question on where you went to school.

websites affect your perception of the school - no matter how small or insignificant the influence. as zant said, it's even greater for those who have never visited. that's why i started the "Princeton's Coolest Webages" thread, so post if you have a favorite webpage, chances are, no one here has seen it before

gianievve: I received the application the next day after I had submitted the application online =]
On the other hand, the postcard arrived quickly (six days after applying, and I am an international) So you should wait a couple of days.. The postcard I received said that they received my application but didn't confirm that they have received every part. It did promise that they will notify me if anything is missing or that they will confirm that everything is in place.

MIT seems to respect its applicants more: I got the application after a reasonable amount of time and it also had a semi-personal letter telling me to contact them (at a specific email) to set up an interview. I did as asked, and they replied within three hours! I don't know about you, but I am impressed.

Tobsta: Everything makes an impression, including my experiences described above. I know that Princeton is great (applying ed), but not from their site.

randomgr, wow, i just posted about exactly the same experience, only you got it the next day, i got it the same :) How do they do it...

Oh and good to hear about the postcard... six days? That would be pretty cool. Mind if I ask which part of the world you're in

I'm from Greece, Athens

Heh... didn't see the loc right there... or did you just add it? I can't get myself to believe I missed it

oh yes you did =]

thanks ramdomgr - good to know, and yeah, MIT does sound impressive!
