Does anyone know when Webster will be finalizing their list? We auditioned at the Chicago Unifieds this month. I don’t recall exactly what they said but the first week in March comes to mind. Our heads were spinning from all the auditions that week. I do want to say that my D loved their new MT director "Lara Teeter and I enjoyed talking to the Dept chair “Dotty”. What a nice group of people!

Webster's letters typically come right around April 1st. They complete all auditions before sending acceptances/rejections. In the past the acceptance letter has come with a certificate, so when that large envelope arrives..... :)

MTDad777 & FlHope (from other thread) -- so glad you and your D's had such positive experiences at both the Unified and on-campus auditions. Confirms what those of us with kids in the program have known all along -- it's a great program run by wonderful people!!

Best of luck to both D's (and all others auditioning for Webster this year)

I was looking through old threads trying to find out the same thing. I was disappointed to find out that the date was so late. My son, also, loved his Webster audition experience at Unifieds in Chicago. It is definitely at the top of his list and waiting so long to hear will be hard. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to take a "nice, long nap" through the month of March; especially with the winter we have been experiencing here in SE Wisconsin.

Glad your son had a great Webster experience too. I remember how hard it is to wait! But ultimately I think, it's probably a more fair way to put together a freshman class! Seems that rolling admissions would really negatively impact those kids auditioning late in the season, wouldn't it? If a school (and so many seem to) fills even half their class by the last audition, that is so many less spots open by the time they see the last kid. And Webster has auditions till the end of March, so......patience, grasshopper.... ;)

Be sure to check out the link posted to the 2008 Senior Showcase (on the Webster Websites thread) while you're waiting. What a great looking group of young performers!

When I auditioned for Webster at NYC Unifieds he said that it would be the 1st or 2nd week in April. That sucks! I want to know soon

:X

I too remember how long the month of March can seem. But when that big envelope comes it is worth the wait.

We got a offer letter today from a great program and they still have 2 audition dates left. I also heard that CCM e-mailed some offers last week but are still auditioning. We have until May 1 for the first offer but I'm afraid that some of the other ones (we did a straight theatre audition) will come in early and won't allow us to wait for Webster. My D loves Webster so this will be a tough call.

Also, my point is that many schools tell you March or April but if you have a great audition they may notify you shortly after the audition. I'm not implying Webster does but they certainly have enough spots to do this.

No matter when an offer comes in, you have until May 1 to commit to enroll in a school. May 1 is the National Reply Date. You will not have to commit to any school before hearing from Webster. Webster, along with most colleges, send notification of admissions decisions by or on April 1.

Do anyone know how many people, Webster will accept this fall? Has anyone every been accepted right after an audition?

Momsonfaith-I don't know how many they will accept this fall. If you look back at some of the threads here you will see some numbers from the past years. I do know that all the letters go out at once, or at least they have in years past. I have not heard of anyone being accepted right after an audition.

MTDad777- Soozievt is right. You have until May 1st to accept or decline offers. No one should pressure you into anything else. This should give you some time to look at all the offers, re-visit schools if you can and make your decision. BTW-CONGRATULATIONS to your D!! It's nice to have that first acceptance in hand.

momsonfaith - I asked Dotty the Fine arts chair at the Chicago Unifieds and she said they are sending 50 and expect 25 to accept. there you go right from the horses mouth. Very nice lady BTW.

Unless you've been accepted academically I don't see how you could be accepted on the spot. I can see them being impressed and maybe tipping their hat that you'll probably get in but addmisions needs to process all the paperwork. They may not take a student with a 17 on their ACT and a C- average. I also think some schools run a background check because if you have a drug felony charge you are not eligible for a scholarship.
We auditioned for 1 MT school on the 2nd and got a acceptance letter on the 18th. That was really fast. We did a theatre audition Monday and got a tution scholarship offer on our voicemail saying there will be a letter to follow. After the audition he told my D that they were going to fast track the paperwork but even then it probably won't showup until next week.

I'm really confused as to WHEN these letters are coming out. Some say it will be this monday, but others say it was last Friday. Someone please clear this up!

I really need to know before I go on vacation on Friday. If they send out letters on Monday, then I probably won't get the letter by Friday (Williamsburg Postal Service has been having problems), whereas if they were sent Friday, I should have it on Thursday-ish. I'm going to call them tomorrow and ask when they were/are sent out and if they say they were sent out then, then I'm just going to ask them about my admissions status on the phone.

Did that make sense to anyone??? :/

Please post when they mailed out the letters. I think everyone is on pins and needles. Good luck to all!

Crossing my fingers and everything else for all you guys!!!!

We are staking out the mailbox so as soon as we see something I'll post. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

My husband just called. THere are two things from WEbster in our mailbox. One is a big envelope. My d is at rehearsal until late tonight so we won't know until she gets home...argh!

I called Webster and they said there was a batch sent out on Friday and one sent today. I asked them if they could tell me my admissions decision over the phone but they said they couldn't. But on the facebook group, someone said that he asked them and they told him that he was admitted over the phone :/

I hope you hear soon. It seems rare to me that they would give someone a decision over the phone. I know it's hard but hold on for a few more days! I am really hoping (along with many others) that you will hear good news soon.

CAST MOM - Oh how hard to wait.

Holding my breath for both of you!

Son just received his certificate from Webster. It's a unique way to accept a student.
