MTDancerMom - we are HISD Galleria. I’ve told my daughter that Webster is making calls and sending emails, she is somewhat the type of person that takes it as it comes, cool as a cucumber. Really weird! I am the one with the sleepless nights… Hope it all works out for your daughter. Best Wishes.

One more thing…I was wondering about the APPLAUD status. Can any of the accepted folks chime in and let us know what the status will change to exactly, once accepted. Thanks a bunch.

39652310, do you know if the tech acceptances were by phone, email, or letter?

Hi Ugadog …FYI, my daughter, who you know is BFA Acting, also has not heard from Webster, though she received a sweetened financial offer just a few days ago (strange I thought). So she literally called the school yesterday (can you tell we are impatient?) and ultimately spoke to her admissions counselor who stated that a decision about her still had not been made. Like you, we have an important decision to make, and waiting on this one school is very difficult for several reasons. Good luck!

So now my D may still have a shot? She auditioned for both MT and Acting, and if she gets in we need to make a trip this week during spring break to check out the campus. Plus the two schools she has acceptances to want early answers (mid-April). Driving me bonkers.

Thanks, OddDad. I’m going to send you a message when I get home from school.

Anyone…anything…today?

My daughter spoke with an admissions counselor. Acceptances are not finished and all will be mailed by April 1st. So, don’t give up, folks…not yet!

ugagog99, snail mail or email? Do you know?

I believe by phone.

Our information said a letter in the mail. However, we all know that some calls and emails are being sent. Still, I wouldn’t give up until you receive official notification, no matter how it’s delivered. Hang in all…we’re almost there!

Anything? I can’t sleep.

still waiting…

To my knowledge, every acting and MT acceptance was notified via email or phone call by yesterday- your online status also should have changed to say “accepted.” To those that haven’t, you should be receiving a letter soon… Hope some of you received good news! :)

(I also hope that didn’t come off as cold for anyone that hasn’t heard- I just feel like it’s better to know than not.)

We will be visiting Webster Thursday. My D has a “meeting” with the Tech Department. Keep you fingers crossed everyone! To all still waiting, best of luck!! :)

I think the way Webster is handling notifications is reprehensible. If you are going to CALL or EMAIL people just say so and don’t keep us guessing about portal changes or letters. It’s ridiculous.

I remember thinking the same thing a few years ago. Then when we finally got a rejection letter, it was rudely worded - kind of cold and blunt, basically saying you’re just not good enough for our program.

I’d still hang in there. My son was accepted to acting last Monday or Tuesday, and as of today, his portal still says applaud. I do agree that emails would have been best. They even emailed us on thursday and said a financial aid packet is on the way in the mail…why didnt they just include it in the email? We were anxious all weekend! Good luck!

Congrats to your Son.

That is very in encouraging news… My D’s financial aid package arrived several weeks ago with a very nice academic scholarship& Webster Grant (she is not a A+ student at all). She is still at the APPLAUD stage at the portal as far as MT goes. I’ve tried to call today but the lines were busy and I was only able to leave a message.

Thank you for posting this important info in regards to the portal.

Question: How was your S notified of his acceptance, email, phone call or letter?

We live in the greater St. Louis area and still nothing in the mail. We are going on the assumption it’s a no. If it changes, then we will deal with it. We are scheduling campus visits to a couple of other schools. By the way, this is not to disparage Webster. Living here, I know they have a terrific program, faculty, and great connections.
