Which one would you choose?

Definitely Webster. Webster is a MUCH smaller program. Also Webster is a BFA program, whereas Marymount isnt. (However if you are looking for a school where you can double major or minor then Marymount would be the better option.) Also Webster is a conservatory located on a campus by St. Louis a great city. Marymount on the other hand has no campus and is located right in the middle of New York. Webster also has a lot of universities located throughout the U.S. and a great study abroad program that i hear a lot of conservatory students partake in. Webster is also a lot less expensive then Marymount. Webster is also a program that has been around for a very long time. They have developed a lot of broadway performers through the years, so i would definitely say Webster has developed a name for itself out in the Theatre world. Webster has a Senior Showcase in NY and LA at the end of senior year and i hear that almost all of the students get signed and interests from agents and casting directors. I am from New York and have a few friends who have attended Marymount. Some have loved it, whereas others felt it wasn’t a good fit for them because they wanted a more BFA focus training, typical college atmosphere, and smaller program. However this is just my opinion please remember. In the end the most important thing is you go the school that feels right for you and is the right fit. That is where you will succeed the most.

I am so grateful for you!!! All of the things you mentioned are the things thats really made me lean towards Webster! I just wanted to be sure that I wasn’t missing anything with Marymount.

Thanks so much!

No problem. Sometimes you need to hear other peoples takes on schools to get a feel for them yourself. You’ll definitely get an amazing, and personalized training at Webster since it’s so small and so selective!! Definitely not an easy program to make so congrats!!

I would recommend you ask other students considering MMC and enrolled at MMC on their Facebook page. They can tell you what they know as well so you have many opinions to consider, not just one. Join the Class of 2016 group to ask your questions.

Right now I’m trying to gather up the aid letters to really compare the prices! That would probably the huge deciding factor. Unfortunately there are not many Webster students or alumni to really talk to about the school and program, and I really dont have much time to visit.

39652310, my advice is to go on Webster’s Conservatory facebook page. Search the groups of people for anyone who was or is an MT major there, and Private Message them any of your questions or concerns. Im sure one of them would be willing to respond (with how many times we’re on facebook throughout the day), and tell you about their experience at Webster and what to expect.
