My D auditioned at Webster on the latest on-campus date (March 22). During the parent info session that day, the Dean of Fine Arts told us that approximately 450 students had auditioned this year -- I believe that was the combined total for MT and acting. He said they would be sending out between 40 and 50 acceptances, in the hope/expectation of getting a freshman class of 25-28 students.

My D was accepted (for acting) and is delighted. No final decision yet but she liked Webster a lot and it's definitely one of her top choices.

SarasMom,
I'd like to think I am!
I also have a son who is interested in sound, live on Puget Sound and work with children with communication disorders (problems making sounds). It seemed like a fun name with many possible meanings, and your interpretation was one I did think of when I picked the name.

Sorry JeffB! But hey, you're going to transfer to a fantastic school! All's well as they say. :-) BTW, I sent LizMT a PM over on the Fullerton thread but it's really for you and her. Hope she got it so she can share with you. :-)

SoundMom, talk about multiple meanings! That's great! I used to be a sound editor for motion pictures so of course I thought of that first. But, my older daughter is handicapped and has challenging communication problems so I'm very familiar with what you do. We have great love and appreciation for all those who choose to help special children. Let me express my general thanks!

Sarasmom, yeah, I'm stoked about transfering to UArts, and really don't care about the Webster rejection, but thank you for the condolence anyway. : )
As for the PM, I'll talk to LizMT and read it.
Or you could just PM the message to me too. : )
