I am looking into online MBA programs and a relative of mine is taking MBA classes online through Webster University. I had an old post on here before about Webster. They are accredite through The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association. The university web site says it is a member of AACSB InternationalThe Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Something unique about Webster is that they do not require a GMAT score for admission like every other MBA program in the USA. Does this have an impact on the quality or recognition of the degree?

I was really curious about this also. I am looking into the HR management MA at the Westport campus. I talked to one of my advisors at UMSL and she wasn't totally sure either - but to look at the credentials of the professors and what kinds of companies recruit there. But since Webster has tons of campuses and stuff, I can't figure out who the professors are or any other info I need. I just want a HR management MA but can't afford 40k at WashU and don't want to have to move away...

Anyone have any idea about Webster's grad programs? Especially if the online or satellite campuses like Westport are looked at favorably?

Being a member of AACSB is NOT the same as being accredited by them. As far as online MBA's go, the ones that come to mind as "real" MBA's that have full time programs ranked in the top 50.

U-Florida
Penn State
Arizona State

U-Florida was ranked #34 overall MBA last year by USNEWS and #1 MBa in the world by the Economist.

Arizona state's MBA is ranked 22 overall by USNEWS

Penn State is also a "Top 50" Full time MBA per USNEWS.

If you are looking for a top degree online, these come to mind. If you just want a degree, Webster should be OK. Remember though if the price is close to the same, why not go for a much more prestigious degree. Sure, you will have to take the GMAT or GRE, but after you are in the program, you will appreciate the screening process as most of the dumb people are left on the outside. My 2 cents.
