Thanks, everyone, for your detailed and helpful replies! I will talk this over with my daughter and FSIL to see if they will consider online-only replies. If not, I will definitely use the numbering scheme for the response cards. That is brilliant!
If you use the numbering technique, make sure to number both the response card and the envelope…and make sure to add the number to your invitation spreadsheet! Our kids thought I was crazy, then they were surprised at the number of response cards they received without the names filled in!
Yep. We have to chase down 20 people…it’s annoying. The most annoying part…we know 15 are coming…for sure…but we need their meal choice.
They have one more week…then I call them. Since they have ignored my emails where I clearly give them the option to just email me the info.
Seriously RUDE.
D and SIL sent paper invitations and paper response cards.
The last wedding H and I attended was all online invitations and RSVP’s. The bride and groom are very environmentally conscious so that made sense (and it was very easy to respond). One caveat is that older family members (I’m thinking people in their 70’s and 80’s) may not be online.
We did paper invites and online rsvp. If anyone had an issue with it, it never got back to us. Our response rate was probably 95%.
