Another idea would be to pick a gift from somewhere (BB&Beyond or other) and print the item listing… then give gift card for approx same amount. That way the recipient knows your thoughts but has flexibility to change things if it’s a duplicate.

How about:

  • a fun cookbook
  • an ice cream maker
  • a fondue set
    -picnic basket
  • some cute kitchen towels, an oven mit, a nice apron

Where we live in the Great Lakes area, Gurgle Pots are popular. I think they are better looking (and now see they are less expensive) than the Cod. They are available at lots of gift shops and also online, many colors and a couple sizes.

I’m reading this thread while enjoying popcorn in my new popcorn maker from ^^^

I stick to the registry these days (or gift cards) or what I’m pretty sure someone would like ( and include a gift receipt for return if I’m not absolutely sure). I cringe when I think about a couple things I gave as gifts many years ago- glass , crystal type things nobody asked for! I always shy away from anything decorative these days unless it’s asked for. A college roommate decades ago gave me a very large canvas framed picture- all black with a little white scrawny tree in the middle. It was hideous to me ( I’m more a flowery, pastel type of person, for better or worse). I moved it around a few times early on from one out of the place to another (long hallway, basement , etc.) I was so happy to finally get rid of it!
