Weddings and marriage

LOL you cannot throw a decent wedding for under 5000 dollars (including the dress, the cake, the tux, the reception) unless its in Vegas or something…

^
I agree.

Like seriously that is the cost of a dress for some people.

My older sister (24) said that she’d like to have a small wedding…but with a huge ring. “Weddings are a single day. Diamonds are forever.”

^
I like her thinking.

I want matching infinity symbol tattoos.

I don’t think that’s true.

I also think a lot of wedding dresses are ugly. It seems like it would be awkward marrying someone while you think they look weird.

^
Look it up. The rate is high. Maybe not that high but most people do not get married anymore and if they do a divorce comes around in a few years.

It is true. And either way, it’s not something like 10%.

Most marriages NOWADAYS don’t last past 5 years.

You see past generations still married after 20+ years.

And I live in the north. Divorce rates are highest up here than they are down south. Nobody gets divorced down there (I know, I have family down there)

and this is just blatantly false

as is this

not true.

although you may see people around you getting married many people decide to just live together. Some people never actualy get a divorce but they just no longer live together.

That is what I mean.

^I live in the South and people get divorced all the time?

Actually, now that I look it up, Alabama (arguably one of the most southern states, geographically and culture wise) has the third highest divorce rate of the country. West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, and Mississippi are also all in the top ten. I’m thinking it’d be pretty safe to argue that the South has more divorces than the Northeast (though not the West) by the way this is looking. Interesting little factoid of the day.

(( If you were wondering, Nevada is number one for divorces, obviously  ))

you seem like a hardcore pro marriager if you don’t wanna face the facts.

Black I agree. A lot of people live together forever and never get married. It’s just a title.

You have absolutely no statistical backing for your observations

Yes it is.

Neither do you.

And anyways I’m mobile, and I don’t really care about the subject. It’s not serious.

The problem is you have no facts.

[Divorce Statistics, Marriage Statistics: Divorce Rates in America, Marriage](Divorce Rate in America: 50+ Divorce Statistics [Updated 2024])

I didn’t acknowledge that there was a divorce magazine. That’s somewhat odd.

I will attempt to refer to it by that name (on here) in the future.

Hahaha like I SAID. I don’t care. So I will cease to post now.

^Way to be.

The divorce rate in 2005 (per 1,000 people) was 3.6 – the lowest rate since 1970, and down from 4.2 in 2000 and from 4.7 in 1990. (The peak was at 5.3 in 1981, according to the Associated Press.)

Dividing marriages by divorces doesn’t tell you what percentage of marriages end in divorce.
