Wednesday 2012 PSAT General Discussion

Okay, great. I still don’t exactly remember the 130 degree one… though it rings a bell.

I think I put “the continued federal support of art”, which was probably choice… B? Not sure though

Was the book question a grid-in? Because then it definitely couldn’t be 3 million. I think 3 million was for the TV watchers

OH! I think I remember the question with the answer of 70 degrees! There was a group of lines that all intersected at one point where two of the angles were vertical and we were given the angle measure of one or two of the others? Or was that on a practice test?

1080 is correct for the reading a book question.

What was the roman numeral question on the math? Idk if anyone has perfect memory for that :stuck_out_tongue: I think I put II, but everyone is saying II and III so it looks like i got one wrong :(

Yes it was the Tv question! But I forgot the reading question? Can someone refresh me please?

And what is the Roman numeral question???

Do you guys remember getting 110? For anything?

For the writing, I am 99.99999% sure it’s “the continued federal support of art.” Think about it, it’s pointlessly wordy and probably unidiomatic to say “whether.” I also think that to say whether it might require “whether or not.” But anyways, you can have controversy over a politician’s remarks; it wouldnt make sense to say controversy over whether a politician should have remarked, or something like that.

I put I, II, and III for the numeral question. But I think for I I may have forgotten to consider fractions…

Could someone refresh my mind on the completing the sentences with the answers uncorroborated…ephemeral, and resurgence…peripherary? I’m having trouble remembering these questions!

@KindOfSortOf the first one was for scientific evidence on giant snowflakes, the second was about an artist who gained popularity

forget most of the questions already- -

Am I the only one who thinks the math section was kinda difficult? All my friends thought it was easy. I’m a sophomore in precalc and I normally get an A- in my math classes, but I found the last few questions pretty much impossible. Is it because that was my first time seeing those types of math questions? Or am I looking at the questions wrong?

I think your math foundation is not perfect. This can be fixed throughout more practices! GL

@heps
To get that I is wrong you had to check for negative numbers…

(x+2 or some other positive integer)^2 >= x^2

If x is negative the statement is false.

I feel like I did utter crap in writing.

I wish I could contribute, but I forgot most of the answers ;(

I also felt that writing was hard. A lot of the answer choices seemed to be awkwardly worded; nothing stood out as being “correct.” It seemed like I was looking for the one that was the least wrong.

oh yeah… that makes sense

this is the very last question on section 2, right?

I thought that math had a lot of easy questions and then like 4 real tough ones. Same goes for writing.

Thanks heps1996!
Also for the whole moistened vs. consumed debate, I was also stuck between these two, but eventually chose consumed because the sentence was “from the dry, lifeless steppes(something along those lines) to the lush, river valley of the green forest watered by the thick fogs”; the fogs aren’t moistening the forest, they are consuming them with their hazy mists…at least that was my interpretation.

What the heck is the Roman numeral question? No one ever answers me…
