Weed, what are your thoughts

What do you think about weed? Have you ever tried it, would you ever try? How many people at your school smoke it? Should we legalize it or recriminalize it?

It's fine. It's not something I'd want to be doing all the time but it's definitely something I love to be doing some of the time.

Answered above

About 60-70% have smoked before, and probably around 25-35% do it often enough to be considered "smokers"

I see alcohol as being more dangerous, and we let people drink that as much as they want at 21. No reason for it to be straight up illegal. Plus everyone does it anyways. It's not like acid or something.

Completely agree with Quaker

I don't really have any thoughts on it: I'm not for it, I'm not against it.

I've never tried it because I can't stand the smell; however, I've been tempted to try those brownies.

I don't know; it's not something I tend to ask/care about.

Hmmm...It would be mildly humorous to see people walking around high.

I've never tried it. I don't think I'm a chicken or a prude or anything, I just haven't tried it. I don't care if all my friends have smoked it, at all, because I live in a backwater little city where there really is a lot of weird stuff going down and hey, who cares? I draw the line at serious drugs (um hello, life vs. IV amphetamine? in law this is what we call an "unconscionable contract") but weed is fine with me. Even so, every time I have the opportunity to get high I pass it up. I'm not sure why but there's a little voice in the back of my head going "Nah... you don't want to do this."

idk if that makes me totally weird but I stand by it. Nonjudgmental yet reserved people! Represent!

--Also one of my teachers keeps suggesting that I get high because he thinks it would be "good for me" and I hate the teacher, which might have something to do with it. I'm just like. thanks but no thanks.

1.) My thoughts are that it's a drug, it is not as harmful to lungs as nicotine but it has long effects on the nervous system. It is a really good pain killer (better than morphine) so as a medication, it is bomb. I don't think is bad nor good, I'm neutral about it pretty much.

2.) I've never tried it, don't think I will.

3.)In my school about 70% of people had at lest tried it, lol, I dont know how many were chain smokers.
Right now in rural med I know a guy who smokes weed, but he's pretty smart and a good guys and I respect his decision.

4.) Perhaps yes to have a better control, legalizing it will get rid of drug traffic in the long run and put illegal drug sellers out of business with proper control.

I have no issue with the drug. I personally quit smoking it 4 1/2 years ago, but I have no issues with weed itself. However, like with all drugs, many people become addicted to the lifestyle which is a MAJOR problem.

Should it be legal? Yes. If you're going to keep tobacco and alcohol legal, there is absolutely no reason weed shouldn't be. Besides, if it was legal, we could tax it and reduce the deficit.

I qualify for medical marijuana and will probably start using it when it becomes legal in MI. Not because I like the high, but because it is much better than the cocktail of pain meds that I am on now.

What do you think about weed? It sounds very intriguing. Hallucinogens have always held some appeal for me, especially when their negative consequences are so mild. Have you ever tried it, would you ever try? Never tried it, though I intend to sometime in the future. How many people at your school smoke it? None that I know. My school has a very harsh policy on drugs of any kind, so it's generally never discussed.Should we legalize it or recriminalize it? Decriminalize.

I've tried it a few times. It's definitely not as bad as other "drugs". A majority of my school do pot I m pretty sure. It only becomes an issue if you abuse it.

Not worth it.

What do you think about weed?
I think it's positive effects far outweighs its negative effects. It is a great way to meet new people, to get to know others better, etc.
I consider it to be natural and unsynthesized, with the viewpoint that it isn't a "drug". Yes, I share this viewpoint with peyote and magic mushrooms.

Have you ever tried it, would you ever try?
I am a semi-regular smoker.

How many people at your school smoke it?
I'm guessing at least 30% of my junior class. Seniors, way more.

Should we legalize it or recriminalize it?
I live in CA. On Sunday, Feb 22, an assemblyman for the state of CA proposed bill AB 390 to legalize the sale and consumption of marijuana in association with a tax on the purchase of it. It's supposed to raise 1 billion in tax revenue just from that tax. Definitely needed in CA right now.

As for my own stance, legalization.

Like alcohol, I think it's fine to use it as long as it's in moderation, you remain in control of your decisions and your life, and you know what you're potentially getting yourself into. I've never tried it, but I probably will once or twice in college. I don't see myself doing it regularly, though. I would say that, by graduation, about 50% of people have tried it at least once, mostly in junior and senior year. I think it should be decriminalized, regulated, and taxed (which is exactly how I feel about prostitution, but that's a different story altogether...)

What do you think about weed?

I'm a firm believer that pot, as well as a few hallucinogens, truly gives you a deeper understanding of the way your psychology works. It's sort of like a window into your own mind.

Have you ever tried it, would you ever try?

I used to smoke on a regular basis. I'm pretty sure I got the urge to get stoned out of my system, so I rarely ever do so anymore.

How many people at your school smoke it?

Not an overwhelming majority

Should we legalize it or recriminalize it?

Legalize it. As long as you're not operating a vehicle, an altered state of mind shouldn't be against the law.

What do you think about weed?
I'm pretty cool with people smoking it, which is the general consensus at my school. Most people think that cigarettes are gross and that weed is whatever. But now I'm wondering if I actually feel differently because I recently found out my friend smokes weed with some regularity and I was just shocked, shocked.
Have you ever tried it, would you ever try?
Never tried it, never would. It's just not my thing.
How many people at your school smoke it?
Maybe 15% of people are recognized as smokers. A majority of people, but not over 3/4s have probably tried it.
Should we legalize it or recriminalize it?
I don't care. I think it's much less dangerous than alcohol, so I wouldn't really care if it were legalized.

lol, weed is not a hallucinogen. at all.

i think it only becomes a problem when people's lives revolve around their weed. it's quite sad actually, i've seen a few friends just completely change and become complete pot heads. but seriously there aren't many negative effects of weed, i don't see how physically there are serious issues with it. i do understand though how some people simply choose to never get involved with it. many hs'ers smoke everywhere. it's kind of a universal thing.

^Seriously, potheads are pathetic. Some people are high ALL THE TIME. And it's really not cool.

^It's a better state of mind than our natural one.

^Except that it starts to rule your life. Sorry, I'd rather live naturally than in a perpetual haze.

1) Weed isn't nearly as bad as people think it is.

2) I used to smoke it all the time, but I got bored of my lifestyle and the people I did it with so I haven't smoked in a few months.

3) I'd say about 90% have smoked pot before, 70% smoke regularly and 80% sell at my school.

4) Legalize it.
