Week of welcome at UCD?

Can someone tell me if UCD holds s a sort of “get to know you” for freshmen living in the residence halls like the do at Cal Poly. I have read the orrientation thread but I was looking for information re more of the social and less of the logistical. Thanks!

Classes don't start until a few days after move-in, so there are a lot of various activities in those first few days. I remember there were things like movie nights, various fun activities, and "The Buzz," which is like a giant party (though I think it's mostly attended by freshman) on the quad with all kinds of free stuff and activities and free food. It was really fun.

My R.A. also put together all kinds of little activities for just our building during the first few weeks of school and throughout the entire year.

I think the best way to get to know people is just to leave your door open a lot for a few weeks. Also, to go around and introduce yourself. The important thing to remember is that no one knows each other, so everyone is looking to just hang out and have fun.

thanks swifty!

just find the frats, go to frat row, w/e, welcome week is all about the parties, and finding your classes, lol
