I received an email about WOW and discovered there is a fee to attend !! ($190 I believe it is) Many of the scheduled events seemed rather High-Schoolish and more in the nature of Social events. I was planning to just move in on Sept 13-14 and spend the week before classes start getting familiar with campus, etc. on my own.

Anyone on here know if WOW is really worth it? Any thing valuable come out of it? Especially for $190 or so !

It is totally worth it! WOW does involve some sometimes silly events but it's a great way to meet a ton of people and get acquainted. When I saw people moving in after WOW week was over, I actually felt kind of bad for them because by that time so many people hhave already met others, so it'll be just a tad harder to get to know others (esp. if you live in a dorm..WOW week divides groups up by who is in their dorm, so u get to know your dorm mates). If you don't go to WOW week, you'll be fine, but you won't have something you can relate to with other people for the first couple weeks, imo. Maybe Im making too big of a deal about it though, but I found WOW Week better than I expected and totally worth it.

My closeset friends in college and the ones I still am in contact with all these years later are the same ones I met during the orrientation week. I really suggest that you attend...lots of things seem silly initially but when you get into the thick of them you find they are fun. The tour guide who took my girls around at Cal Poly was really big on WOW. If you can swing it I would advise you to go and have a good time.
