Weekend In Pittsburgh

Yes!

This picture is nearly 15 years old so I’m sure some of the buildings are different.

Phipps still has some of the Chihuly pieces on permanent display. Girasole is good, have eaten there a couple of times, so is Casbah , which is in the general area.

The downtown one has all the kitchy stuff hanging on the walls. So…in addition to having a great breakfast, you get to read the history of who has eaten there.

The uptown one…not the same.

All my recommendations would be dated, but I loved my two visits to this city! Lots to do and see and eat!

Primati’s and Pamela’s for sure. The Carnegie Museum and Phipps are favorites, but check what’s up with covid protocols. Most of our Pittsburghery was spent at hospitals, so I have an Oakland bias. It is a very hilly city, but walking around the point is very beautiful and fun.

Don’t forget the Aviary! A bit harder to find, but really unique and wonderful. I would not try Fallingwater unless you have tons of time to get there and back. If you are driving in, you could loop in the Flight 93 Memorial depending on where you are from.
