Does michigan state looks at weighed or unweighed gpa, and which one should I submit. Cant find a straightforward answer on their website.
Unweighed is 3.4
Weighed is 3.5
Sat is 1400
Do u think I can get in based off this info as well
The difference between 3.4 and 3.5 is not going to be what decides your admission. Send both.
Per another post you said, “My current gpa is 3.52 unweighed and 3.59 weighed” They are close enough that it really won’t matter. Often the HS puts one or both GPAs on the transcript and that is what gets sent to colleges.
And the “do you think I can get in” should be answered on your post in the chance me thread.
You just submit your transcript and they will interpret it their way. Unless they instruct you to do so, don’t recalculate your GPA by yourself. Just submit whatever it shows on your transcript. Their is no standard way in wGPA.
When we visited with the school, admission stated that they recalculate the GPA so that seems to suggest that weighted or unweighted doesn’t matter. They look at your core courses and calculate your GPA that way and they don’t factor in non core classes. At least that is the way I took it from the conversation.
