Weighed or Unweighted gpa?

I'm applying as an international student, and my school does not offer AP, IB or Honors classes.

Instead of GPA my school uses GWA (which ironically means 'general weighted average'). But based on American schools' definition of weighted, it actually is more of unweighted, as I mentioned above, there are no AP/IB/Honors.

I put unweighted on the common app regarding my class rank, which I submitted a few days ago. I'm not sure what my counselor put, and I am a bit worried that it might not match up.

Should I email the college I already sent my app to about the case? Or am I experiencing some post submission paranoia and probably over thinking this?

Thanks

Assuming GWA is the same as weighted GPA, it should be easy enough to convert it. At my school (which uses weighted GPA), an A in an honors course translates to an unweighted 4.0, a B to a 3.0, and so on. Could you explain a little more about how you calculate GWA?

To calculate for GWA, the grades from multiple classes are averaged, with regards to the number of units each class has.

All students of the same year level have the same classes; we do not get to pick.

Technically in my school, the grade is weighted. But since my school and American schools have different definitions of ‘weighted’, I was hoping that reporting either weighted or unweighted won’t make that much of a difference.

Don’t be concerned about this; there is no need to follow up with the schools where you already submitted, An honest error you make between self reported information and the information in your transcripts will not be critical to admissions decisions. Self reporting information as to GPA and rank is of minor importance in the process.

If it is only adjusted by he number of credits, the GPA is still unweighted.
