Hi everyone, so I'm a senior applying to Pomona College (my first choice). I'm trying to figure out whether I should apply early or not. I have great grades (4.0), fairly good SAT IIs (780, 700), and good ECs (although no national awards). The only problem is my math SAT I score - 630.

If I apply regular, I have more time to raise my score (Nov and Dec). If I apply ED I, I have no time to raise my score or do my app (I just started to consider applying early), so I'm not really considering ED I. I'm more considering ED II. Should I take Dec SAT I and hope my increase is enough to warrant me not doing ED II? Or should I just take Nov SAT I and apply ED II with whatever I get because ED will give me a good boost?

Input would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Okay, well I’ve decided to apply ED I. There are many factors that influenced my decision, so I’m not going to explain them here. But I just wanted to let you all know so you don’t waste time replying. Thanks.

How about trying the October ACT?

ED II is also a very good option. It gives you the time, and the advantage of ED. Just my two cents - glad you made the decision though - GOOD LUCK! :)

I’m really bad at the ACT! Weird, right?

Yeah…I was strongly considering ED II. But I would rather not have to do all those supplements and other stuff for other colleges if I could just apply to my top choice. ED II feels a little too late to not start my other college apps. I see you’re going to Pomona…how do you like it? I really love it and want to get in there.

Pomona is amazing. I love the people, classes, and the atmosphere here. There’s so much you can do here - I’m still discovering all of it! If you have any questions - I’ll be happy to help!

Cool thanks! I will definitely ask you more later on. I love Pomona already :)
