Weight (in admissions) of 3 AP languages?

I'm currently a junior in high school and am taking the AP Spanish Language exam in May. Next year I'll be taking the AP German and AP French exams. I intend to major in international relations, so naturally I'm assuming this will add something extra to my applications, especially for Georgetown. My GPA is good, all As for the most part, except in math and science classes.

Will these language courses, and a few international relations courses I take at the local university (which I will have final grades of A+'s in), outweigh my math/science grades (Hon. Bio. A, A; Hon. Chem: b, C; APES: A,A; AP Bio. A, A; Hon Geometry- retook for B, C; Algebra 2 B, B; Pre Calc- retook for A, A; AP Stat A, A)?

And yes, I know my math and science grades are absolutely horrid, but I still have a 3.8-3.85 unweighted GPA.

Sorry if the above is a bit confusing. Late night studying for a math test >:</p>

It all really depends on your rank. Georgetown seems to have this bizarre, uncanny obsession with class rank for its applicants, so that would be my best suggestion is to check on that first. Secondly, yes, having mastery of three languages will be a benefit to you, that is virtually undeniable, however, we need to bear in mind that you will be against students who may not have had those opportunities, so you most certainly will not be a shoo in.

Georgetown also seems really to want to see how you’ll use their degree in the “real” world, so your service and interests really also play a major role in determining admission.

By all means it seems you are on the right track, and though your grades do have some blemishes, it seems clear to me that your overall rigor has been strong, which is critical. Also, the extra AP Languages will only play a role if you make them do so. I recall in my interview discussing the merits of taking AP Spanish Lit for the economic and social views it provides; I should hope that you would do something similar, discussing the true value of these course that you are taking.

Hope this sheds some light from my going through the G-town admissions documentation and process this year.

Thank you for the informative reply, bpsbgs, and congratulations on your acceptance! Due to math/science scores, my class rank is in the top 25%, but probably not the top 10% (over 3/4 of my class is in National Honor Society). Do you think this will be a huge factor?
