Internship/research- position at Center for Advanced Technology laboratory at Stony Brook University starting the summer before senior year (still currently work there). Currently working on a project (technology for medical application) (looking to go for pre-med studies with bio-med emphasis). Will be sending detailed report about my current project along with my application.
Receiving a recommendation from the Director of the Laboratory.

Is my internship significant enough for a shot at some top tier schools (despite my lower GPA and test scores) or am I shooting in the pitch black. Any feedback is helpful.
