Weight of the SATs/ACT.

When transferring after one's sophomore year, how important are sat and act scores? because my dream school is penn and i did terribly on both.

Your SATs and HS record are more important when transferring as a sop than as a jr., because you will have spent such little time at your current college. The transfer school will only have one semester/qt of grades to look at and they know that it is sometimes difficult for students to get to know their instructors in large freshmen classes. Therefore, they have to rely more on test scores and HS grades and recs.

Read the sticky thread, Transfer Admissions 101, at the top of this forum for good information about what transfers schools are looking for.

I'm assuming their importance will be very similar to HS grades, the longer you've been in school the less they'll matter.
