weight on SAT II test?

how much does JHU weigh the SAT II test. I don't want to sound like a whiner, but my school has horrible college preparation and nearly everybody fails the SAT II test(with the exception of a kid who enjoys to watch the history channel and read history books. she did fine on the history test). But mainly, everybody fails it. I'm worried about my SAT II test. How much does JHU weigh them. are they seen with lots of importance or just a test to help with the process.

Schools are supposed to prepare you for SAT II's? Err...I don't think any school follows such a curriculum...I self studied for all of mine....

I'm not sure how JHU weights them, but they have to be relatively important if they recommend 3 SAT II's instead of the normal 2.

well, I hear of kids getting 700+ on the bio test by taking their school bio test. kids with A's in bio at our school averages around a 500 on the bio test.

your school is not responsible for preparing you for SATs...

SATs root out students with grade inflation. if people in your school are getting A's but 500s in SAT2 BIO I am sorry to say this but your school has crazy grade inflation.

the material we are taught are just very focused and not diverse at all. we spend a lot of time doing labs that doesn't amount to too much information

the standardlized tests are used to check the validity of school grades. Ap scores and sat 2 scores are not important if they match up with your school grades. However, if you are scoring high on your sat 2s and aps and do pathetically in your school grades. this may indicate the level of competition and difficulty of your school. However, if you score low on standalized tests, but do well on school reports. These standalized tests may hurt you. However, if your school ranks and you are ranked at the top %s. I believe JHU will not discriminate you based on your school's performance.

ah... I'm top 1% of my class but i fear my subject test might not show consistency with my class grades.

if you r top 1% that is fine, the school will understand that you have tried your best but was hindered by your environment. However, if you apply for bme, it would still be hard to get in since your sat 2 math score has to be 800. But other majors should be fine =D gl!
