Weighted average question

I’m curious, my kids HS weight with 5 points for each honor/AP class, how does your HS weight?

Lisa

GPA calculated as normal, then 0.2 is added for every weighted course.

Example:
5 A, 1B; 4 weighted
[5(4)+1(3)]/6=3.83+4(0.2)=4.63

My school does not weigh GPAs.

A (+/-) = 4.00
B (+/-)= 3.00
C (+/-)= 2.00
D (+/-)= 1.00
F (+/-)= 0.00

mine is:

+2 = Level 100+ College Course / AP Course / Other Advanced Hourses
+1 = Honors Courses
+0 = State Couress / General High School Courses

but it doesnt matter how ur school views it..
since it is only used for ur class rank..

if a college uses Weighted GPA for admission, they'll reweight it if they need to

my school adds 1 pt for A's and B's in honors and ap courses
