Weighted GPA? NON weighted?

Can someone tell me once and for all if Stanford looks at our weighted or unweighted GPA? Thanks

Ok so weighted GPA for stanford means nothing. They recalculate your unweighted gpa by stripping all the +'s and -'s and base it on a 4.0 scale.

a 4.0 scale, doesn't that mean it's unweighted? As in, advanced classes receive no higher point?
And is it true that GPA and scores are the things that get your one foot in the door but doesn't get you admitted, and other/more personal factors (passion, drive, ability) become more important after your one foot gets in?
Thanks guys

They recalculate GPA using grades from 10-12 grade (10-11 for SCEA), and count academic subjects only (math, science, English, foreign lang, social studies) - no PE, music, art, etc. They use unweighted 1-4 scale, disregarding all (+) and (-). So A+ = A = A- =4, etc.

what's a mid-range GPA for this school?
stupid question I know but
any ideas?

I'd say like 3.7-3.8; they get a whole bunch of 4.0's though. At a school like Stanford, you don't get in b/c your SAT scores or gpa is high because many of their applicants meet both these criteria. But it's hard to get consideration without them. I'd say what gets you in if you're a non URM and non recruited athlete is how intreresting and/or unqiue you portray yourself.
