Weighted GPAs...

there's prolly another thread for this... but w/e

hey, i was just curious... how does your school weight classes? down here in PBC, fl... honors classes are weighted 1.125 (so an A is a 4.5, B is 3.375 C is 2.25...) and ap classes are weighted 1.5 (so A is 6, B 4.5, C 2.5...etc)... all classes taken at the community college are classified honors so they get 1.125 weight, unless they are found to be equivalent to an ap class (like calc1,2 or organic chem, marco/mico, etc) then they get 1.5 weight.... im just wonderin cause i see people saying they have a 5.0gpa+... thats not unheard of but must be pretty hard... i mean, you gotta factor in pe/health and other regular classes, which bring the HPA down... unless your school does it differently... ive even heard of something outta a 7.0 scale... whats that??

Hmm

Regular = 4.0
Honors = 5.0
AP = 6.0

Freshmen year = 4.625
Sophomore year = 5.125

My school:

Course type - A, B, C, D, F
Regular - 4, 3, 2, 1, 0
Honors/AP/Princeton University - 5, 4, 3, 2, 0

Colleges know how your school calculates GPAs though, so don't worry about comparing them.

General Class: No extra weighted points
College Prep: None also
Honors: 8
AP: 15

Regular/ Class: 4 (A), 3 (B), 2 (C), 1 (D), 0 (E, we don't have Fs)
Honors English is the only honors class we have and it doesn't get any special weight.
AP Class: 4.5 (A), 3.5 (B), 2.5 (C), 1.5 (D), 0 (E)
CC classes are weighted like APs.

College Prep: A = 4.0 B = 3.0 , etc.
Honors: A = 4.33 B = 3.33
AP: A = 4.67 B = 3.67
