<p>Good question - IU requires a transcript from your high school and takes your GPA from there. I'm not sure if they unweight it once received. Let us know if you find out.</p>
<p>I just got an email from IU and they will use whatever your counselor sends as long as it's based on a 4 pt. scale. Here is their response:
My understanding is that Admissions will enter whatever GPA score your son’s high school guidance counselor puts on the Counselor Form part of his application. The only time IU recalculates GPA scores is if the high school sends in a GPA that is not on a 4.0 scale. In that case, it would need to be converted, and I know they have a formula for it. However, since it seems like your son’s school operates on a 4.0 scale, whatever is on the form is what they will enter.</p>
