I realized that when everyone cited their GPA, they cited unweighted and weighted. My school only has unweighted grades and I would like to know how weighting functions.

it varies from school to school. but if you took honors and AP classes, you would have a weighted GPA and unweighted GPA. if you didnt take any honors or AP classes, you would only have an unweighted GPA. For example in my school you multiply your GPA in the classes by 1.1 to get the weighted gpa: so if i had a 3.67 in AP Chem it would become a 4.03, a 4.0 in honors pre-calculus would become a 4.4. This only applies to ap and honors classes. so if you had a 4.0 in global studies it stays as a 4.0 when calculating the weighted GPA. however the weighting system varies from school to school so i recommend you ask your guidance counselor what the school’s policy is.

Your weighted and unweighted would be the same then. My school doesn’t weight either.

Michigan recalculates your grades.

Pretty much here’s how it goes.
90-100% or A+ - A- ==== 4.0
80-89% or B+ - B- ===== 3.0

And so on…
