I am really interested in the Cornell in Qatar for medicine ... but there are only 18 people in the class of 2009.. any comments?

weill cornell enrolls 50 people in their medical class and they also a pre-med program. I am not sure how many they enroll. If ur in the middle east/south asia region then weill cornell is a good option..it all depends on the situation

NUS Med School is the best in Asia, i don't think that cornells' offshore campus can reach upto NUSs' reputation(even if you recieve degree from Cornell US).

but wont it carry more weight if i want to go to the US after that?

Even in the US, NUSs' med school is more respected then of Cornells Qatar campus, i know one who choose NUS over AIIMS, she got into JHU for post grduation. NUS is THE BEST in asia for med and bio Engg.

It's very difficult to get into NUS medicine as a local, much less as an international. There are maybe less than 10 internationals in my sister's year.

One more factor you may have to consider: even locals have to serve a 5 year bond after graduation.

abhishiv is dead right...its even bigger than aiims

Firstly, whats AIIMS. .. and secondly, is it any way i can get the interview waived for NUS or Cornell?

aiims is the premier medical institute in india, similar to the iit's of engineering...

yes thats true , there are very few internationals enrolled in NUS for medicine...

wow, india really rocks man!!

sorry...wuts does NUS stand for?

National University of Singapore

We have only AIIMS and the IITs. Apart from that, our colleges aren't that great. The Indian college system has lots of scope to improve.

Even the IITs are not so great(barring 2-3 out of 7)

does anyone know whether i can get the interviews waived for NUS Med and WCMC-Q ?

probably not(for NUS). NTU waives entrance exams if you have olympaids.

yeah but NTU doesnt offer medicine does it?

no NTU doesnt. NUS has the only Med school in singapore

I know that, i wanted to say that if you are an olympaid winner or something like that you could make some sort of excuse for waiving interview.

lol abhishiv...

but waleedk i thought u wanted to do computer science..
