Weinberg vs. School of Communication

My D is planning on applying ED and is torn between applying to Weinberg or the SOC. She is really trying to decide which is the best fit. I know it is possible to switch should you change your path later, but does anyone have idea if one is easier to get into than the other? It would seem that Weinberg would be because it is a larger school. But I also have heard that the Communications school is easier to get into. Any advice?

Depends on an intended major in the SoC. If it’s a “limited” major such as theatre, very difficult to transfer into the major in SoC from Weinberg.

Definitely apply for SoC, it’s much easier to transfer out than to transfer in for most of the majors in the SoC. It’s also harder to take SoC classes if you are not a major.

Thank you for all of the advice. She wouldn’t be a limited major. In general, which school is easier to be accepted to?

What major is your D planning to pursue??-it might help in ascertaining the answer you seek.
I may be speaking out of turn, however, choosing SOC over Weinberg or Weinberg over SOC based on the perception of which is “easier” to get accepted-not the way to choose where to apply. Instead-figure both are top tier-and then submit where your D most wants to study. Then when she gets her acceptance she will be realllllly happy.
My two cents-APOL-a Mum
