I was just wondering what this email meant:
Dear UC Berkeley Applicant,
This is our final notice to let you know that you have been invited to apply for The Alumni Scholarship, UC Berkeley’s most prestigious leadership scholarship. Our application deadline is Monday, February 14. Paper applications must be postmarked by this date, online applications must be submitted by midnight.
The Alumni Scholarship awards the most outstanding student leaders from across the country, encouraging them to attend UC Berkeley where they can flourish on our famously energetic campus. Alumni Scholarships range from $1,000 to $4,500 and can be renewed for up to five years. Alumni Scholars also receive special benefits and privileges on the Berkeley campus, including networking events with alumni VIPs and discounts at the Student Store.
Applying for The Alumni Scholarship is easy: simply go to www.alumni.berkeley.edu/als and use our online form. You can also download a paper application from the website and check our FAQs. Students who advance to the Semifinal round of the scholarship will be notified after March 30; Finalists will be invited to a face-to-face interview with a local alumni committee during the month of April.
You are receiving this email because the alumni of UC Berkeley want you to apply to share in the $1.3 million we give out in scholarships each year. This is your chance to not only secure valuable financial assistance, but to distinguish yourself among your peers as one of the most outstanding entering students at UC Berkeley.
most os the email sounds pretty much like a generic aid reminder but the last paragraph kinda stood out to me.
