Weird Flip Flop question

Can you stretch out the part that goes across your foot? The pair in question is made from cotton webbing with embroidered cotton ribbon on top of it.

I got them a month ago, wore them for the first time today and just figured out that the strap isn't high enough. I can't return them, since I already wore them and the nearest store is 200 miles away. I could eBay them, but I don't think they would go for much as they don't have the tag and the brand (J. Crew) is partially rubbed off on the heel. Any ideas?

i have a pair of reefs that have gotten pretty stretched out over the last year and a half...
i don't know what this might do, but maybe if you get them wet they would form to your foot a little more?

Wear Chacos. You'll get a kickass tan, and their great for river walking and climbing trees and such...and are amazingly comfortable. Or you can take deenierah's advice.

I found a solution! I just have to wedge them on my sister's feet (much bigger than mine!) and have her wear them for around 10 minutes.

I have a pair of Tevas I wear a lot and adore. They're amazingly comfy and get really good grip when wet, but are UGLY!!! (Pretty Rugged II in Coral if you want to see for yourself)
