My school uses a 7-point scale instead of the standard 10-point one and therefore the GPA is lower than it should be, will they recalculate it? My average grade is a 91.7 but my 7-point scaled GPA is 3.42 and my 10-point scaled GPA is 3.7. I think it's unfair if they don't recalculate it...

They don't have the time to recalculate everyones gpa. They will admit you/reject you based on the 3.42.

Thats really stupid...on the transcript though it lists the average grade and the grading scale along with the gpa.

I have a 2180/1440 on the SAT with an 800 on math though, hopefully that will make up for it.

A smaller college might recalculate it, but not PSU. The 7 point scale does students a disservice, imo. Our public hs used to have a 7 point scale and they might have noted it on the transcripts, but only the letter grade appeared instead of the numerical score. So if you had a 92.4%, it was a B. The same as a kid from the neighboring school district that had an 79.5%. End of story. And it DID keep kids from competing fairly with kids who were graded on the much more common 10 point scale. Rejections were received, scholarship money was lost. Finally, a large community push caused the school board to change it's policy. At last! Some teachers were unhappy about it though because they didn't want to change anything.
