Weird IDOC question

I’m in a bit of an odd situation. During 2014 I received Social Security Survivors’ Benefits under my father’s SS claim number (he died in 2011). That is untaxed income and is not reported on either the FAFSA or the CSS Profile (also, most importantly, I no longer receive those benefits; I haven’t received any in 2015 and never will receive them again).

During the usual financial aid application procedure, this came up with one school, and via IDOC they requested a 1099 form from Social Security, which I uploaded to IDOC.

My question is, even though only one school requested this form, won’t all my IDOC schools be able to view it? Do I need to pre-emptively email each of them and explain the situation, since they’re so far unaware that I received these benefits? I haven’t gone out of my way to hide anything, and I’ve been totally open at every step of the process, but I know how easily things can get misconstrued, and I don’t want to wind up with anyone thinking I received (or continue to receive) income that I’m trying to hide.

Thoughts?

If any other school has a question, they’ll ask for more info - just as this one school did.
