weird interview stuff

Hi everyone, I live in the Bay Area and I've applied to Harvard. Some weird stuff has been happening -- a classmate of mine has been contacted by four different people for an interview, and two others have been contacted twice. I seem to be the only one who hasn't been contacted at all, as another ten or so people have been contacted for their interviews already. Is it too early to ask them what's going on? And is there a regional director I can talk to, or do I have to contact the admissions office directly?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

There is a regional rep, and you should contact him (her). Ask your guidance counselor for the name and phone number. The counselor should have it, or can get it for you. It's not too early to call them and find out what the deal is. Good luck!

i live in VA and haven't gotten an interview so i called the admissions office and they said to wait until Feb 15th and if i still haven't been contacted to call back then and that then they maybe able to help me. the lady seemed very flustered/irrate on the phone she told me to "be patient" eventhough i was very calm and polite on the phone. oh, well. so i wait.

This is why you should ask your guidance counselor and not call the overwhelmed admissions office. Don't take it personally. I am sure they're just over their heads right now and getting dozens of calls a day, mostly about the same things.
But ask your counselor. That's his job.

doesn't matter if they get dozens of calls a day about the same thing. It's their job and they knew what kind of things they would be doing. If they're gonna be irate about things they're supposed to be doing, then maybe they should go look for some other jobs.

ya sorry about the rant....I had a lot of experiences with people with bad attitudes...especially DMV..

It's just the prelude to the attitude you'll be facing once you get to harvard, from the administration and the students alike.

As far as I can tell, people here have fairly good attitudes. :) ihavenolife (nice name, haha), I'm sorry that you got yelled at (you know what I mean), but in defense, (a) I'm also a secretary and (b) I've been in the admissions office several times and it's pretty crazy in there during the winter.

Oh, and yes, definitely talk to your counselor. Good luck.
