Weird Math Situation

<p>I'm a sophomore in highschool and I'm not taking any math classes this year because I'm focusing on science. In eighth grade I took alg 2 and last year I took precalc and AP stats concurrently. I've heard from some friends and parents that I made a mistake by not taking a math class this year. Am I hindering my chances of being accepted to Stanford or other prestigious schools by doing so?</p>

<p>I’m planning on taking Ap calc junior year and then taking calc 2 or a similar class at the local University of Wisconsin branch. </p>
