Weird Question about Registration

This is a confusing question, and so far, no one has been able to answer it. Please help! I’m going to be a freshman in Wharton this fall, but I plan to declare a second major in math at the end of the year. If I skip MATH 104 because of BC credit, will the College make me go back and take it later (because they don’t give AP credit for classes involving a major). Or, should I try to do MATH 114 and get retroactive credit, which they would surely acknowledge? And, if I did take MATH 114, do I still have to do STAT 101 & 102 at some point for Wharton? Someone, please help!

a double major isn't the same as a dual degree. Don't confuse yourself.

* The College Major

Students wishing to complete more than one major in the College of Arts and Sciences may do so simply by applying for, and completing the requirements for, each major. At least 18 different courses must be taken in fulfillment of major requirements. All other requirements must also all be completed.

Students interested in doing more than one major should consult with an academic advisor.

NOTE: While a double major indicates that a student is taking two majors within the College of Arts and Sciences, Penn undergraduates have the opportunity to receive two Bachelor's Degrees simultaneously from two different schools within the University (the College and the School of Engineering for example). See Dual Degree for more information.

Do you have access to Pennster.com? Ask all the peeps on there. They're mucho helpful.

Yes. You should absolutely skip 104. Take 114 and get the retroactive credit.

Also, you shouldn't take Stat 101/102, you should take Stat 430/431 instead, because they're more mathematical and the two of them together count for 1 credit towards a math major (whereas 101/102 don't count for anything towards math).

Note: The combo of 430/431 also satisfies the Wharton stat requirement.

Do you mean STAT 430/433... I don't see anything about STAT 431 online... should I go on and do MATH 114 first, then move to STAT or what? Any suggestions on the order of the classes? Thanks for all of the help so far, by the way!
