weird question but I wanna know the answer...

So one of my roommates was telling me he lied on his app. we are going to a community college in Florida and he already has done 2 years at a CC in Washington. He just didn’t do so hot (2.18 gpa) so he applied as a first time college student so he didn’t send his transcripts from the other college. He feels he will get away with this cause he has never applied for financial aid and he feels it helps cause he is across the country now, so they will never find out. He says he didn’t want to risk not getting into a university because of his low GPA from the first couple years.

So I was wondering if it's possible he will get away with this or will he be caught? My opinion on this is he should of manned up and got great grades his first two years. Not slack just because his parents were paying for it.

Your roomie will likely get caught and have to answer for his omission and/or provide the transcript. College admissions run applicants through a database of enrolled students. This clearinghouse of data exists specifically to deter what your roomie wants to do – hide poor past performance or for others, hide unpaid debt.

Once his Soc Security number gets entered – it’ll hit back DING! Joe Smith was enrolled at XX school between Sept 06-Jan 08 or whatever.

Your community college right now doesn’t care about his past CC experience. But when he applies to a 4-yr program, they’ll be more careful.
