Weird Question...

What city is UF located in? Lol jk.

So..I'm planning to go to UF (accepted) but I applied to FSU just in case and I received FSU's letter of admittance a few days ago. Toward the bottom it said something along the lines of:

Tuition: Non-Florida Residency Status

or something like that. I've been living in FL since elementary school so idk why it would say that. Now I'm concerned that something like that might've happened for UF. Obviously I don't want to be charged OOS tuition. How can I check that I am IS for UF? I'm not an immigrant or anything btw.

UF is in gainesville. You need to fill out a residency affidavit. That’s probably why you didn’t get the Florida Opportunity Scholarship. It’s for people with Florida residency. You are a Florida resident if you have been living in Florida since elementary. Hurry up and correct the problem. You are missing out on a lot of in-state opportunities.

I was joking about the location haha. I did fill that out! On the application. Should I just call them tomorrow then? Which office do I call?

[lol that joke made me laugh]

But the same thing actually happened to me, and I think it has something to do with when you filled out the application. I applied to UNF and got in, when they sent documents to me it said that I was a Non-Florida Residency and at first I was like what? [This was before I got accepted to UF] They said something about that I needed to also provide my guardians drivers license or other documents, (something like that) to prove that I was instate because my liscence wasn’t enough proof (I think).
The same thing happened to my friend at UNF while she was filling out the application, and her and my guidance counceler called and got it cleared and then she sent the application.
UF or Ju didn’t say anything about it, so I assumed it was UNF’s mistake.

UF collects the info off your app… well… at least they did on mine. Didn’t you need to tell your parent’s (or guardian’s) license number? Car tag? Voter’s Number?

Yes^, I gave them my mom’s driver license stuff and the car tag also but that part was kind of confusing cause it asked for the tag but we didnt know if that was the VIN# or what. I forgot what we put though. We also put the voter’s stuff but that was a hassle because my mom had to go to downtown and get the voting information and yea…

@iSenior you probably would have got the FOS scholarship if your residency was cleared up. Your Financial Aid is gonna be messed up. Most likely you won’t get the FSAG grant. You have to get this cleared up ASAP. I had to do the same thing.

Okay, well they are closed today so I guess I can email them right now and call tomorrow? You had the same problem jerome? Who should I contact about my residency stuff? And just to make sure, what determines residency? I mean we have a house in FL and my mom has an FL driver’s license.

u must have lived in florida like 2-3 years before applying

It could be a voter registration info, driver’s license, or vehicle registration
